sick day!

The last couple of weeks have been so fast paced that they are finally catching up with me in the form of a cold. There is nothing worse than being sick when you are your own boss running a business. Rarely do I miss my days in the corporate world; chained to a desk and doing a job I didn't love. Today it would have been really nice to call in sick to a supervisor so I could spend the day in bed, doped up on cold medicine, and napping through bad television. C'est la vie!

But, on the up side, the fact that I am trying to "take it easy", having a cold is giving me the opportunity to get caught up on some much needed paperwork, phone calls and correspondence. So life isn't all that bad.

Lastly, I'd like to give a big shout out to Ian Prosser and the guys and gals at Botanica International for throwing the most fabulous 20th Anniversary party last Thursday night. As expected, the party was hot! hot! hot! even though the temperature was in the 40's. Congrats on 20 years Botanica and I'll raise my plastic cup of DayQuil to 20 more! :)

Registry Event at Pottery Barn, 2/10

Last night, while wandering the mall looking for inspiration, and an outfit to wear for tonight's Botanica 20th Anniversary Party, I came across a neat event that I thought I'd share with you:

Pottery Barn at Citrus Park Mall (Tampa) is having a special registry event on Tuesday, February 10th at 7:00 pm. It reminded me of how much fun I've had going with my clients to Pottery Barn to assist them with registering. Who doesn't like Pottery Barn!?!?!

In case you are not familiar with the perks of registering with "The Barn" they offer guests the opportunity to purchase items online or in any store nationwide, online registry updates 24 hours/day, you can use the online Thank You Manager (that would have been cool when I was married!), AND receive 10% off any items remaining on your registry after the event. That perk alone is worth registering, especially for some of the larger pieces of furniture!

Best of all, the registry is NOT just for bridal, you can register for housewarmings, your birthday...even get a head start on a wish list for next Christmas! How cool is that!?!?!

Well, I wanted to let everyone know about this. I'm sure it is going to be a fun party so I'll be bringing some of my clients by.

If you're interested in attending, you'll need to RSVP at 813.926.1968.

See you there!

Whew!

I can't believe that we are already into February 2009. With so much going on here in Tampa Bay it seems like the holidays were just here! But, with the Holiday/New Year's parties behind us and the Super Bowl officially packed up and gone I have a few moments to breathe before running headlong into the next group of events.

The last month has been a busy one. In January I had the pleasure of attending Catering by Design's "Breakfast at Tiffany's" Brunch. "The Laurens", as all of us coordinators now affectionately call them, really rolled out the red (or should I say blue?) carpet for some area vendors. Not only was their beautiful tasting room decorated in the trademarked Tiffany Blue (or as close as you can get to it), but all of the tables were set up to look like gigantic Tiffany gift boxes thanks to Kristen Seeger at Panache Rentals.

The brunch was fabulous (who would have thought of a dessert of waffles and whoppers!!! yum!) and the company even better, as you can imagine when you get a bunch of party people together!

Later in the month I spent a wonderful afternoon with Judy at The Dressing Room viewing the new wedding dresses she is now carrying. Of the three designers she is carrying, not one dress is over $3000, with some under $1500! The best part is that the dresses are incredibly well made. I even found my dream dress, should I ever decide to tie the knot (again).

With January now behind us, and despite the frigid weather expected over the next few days, spring should be here soon. Punxsutawney Phil may have seen his shadow on Monday, but in Florida spring starts in February!

Our world moves fast so check back to see what we are up to.
